Tea parties, Santa, science, shopping and more. There’s actually a bit to get up to over the weekend…

Friday

1. Christmas at CH kicks off…

The annual CH Christmas Evening event  takes place from 6pm to 8pm tonight.

800 goodie bags will be given to customers who spend more than €10 on a first come, first served basis, on a night which sees discounts of up to 20% in some departments.

Tickets are available in the store and you can sign the back of the ticket to enter into a draw for a €500 hamper of cosmetic goodies.

2. Calendar Launch…

The launch of 2018 Spa / Fenit Hospice Calendars takes place at The Tankard Bar in Kilfenora tonight.
The fun begins at 8.30pm and there will be music and refreshments served. The calendar features local Community Groups. All are welcome.

3. STEM Careers Expo…

As part of National Science week, the Institute of Technology Tralee will host a STEM Enterprise and Career Expo from 6pm-9pm.

The event, taking place in the North Campus, will connect students, graduates and job seekers with STEM businesses and enterprise from across the county. Details on all of the events as part of Kerry Science Festival can be found at www.kerryscience.com

Saturday

4. Santa arrives in Manor…

Santa Claus arrives in the Manor West Retail Park this Saturday and will be at the Park every Saturday and Sunday from now until Christmas.

He arrives from 12noon to 6pm and children can meet him for free. There will also be balloon modelling and face-painting.

5. Fun science at IT Tralee…

Fun at the ITT fun event during Science Week last year.

IT Tralee is hosting a free Showcase and Family Day as part of Science Week for the younger generation from 11am to 5pm.

There’ll be loads of free demos and workshops, children’s shows, bouncy castle, facepainting and much more.

6. Strictly launch…

If you’re in the Ardfert direction then you might want to call down to Curby’s Bar at 8.30pm for a bit of fun.

The contestants for this year’s St Brendan’s Hurling Club ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ will be introduced before they take to the Ballyroe Heights Hotel dance floor on December 2.

Sunday

7. A drop of tae…

The Irish Red Cross Annual Christmas tea party will take place this Sunday, from 3pm to 6pm in the Grand Hotel.

There will be light refreshments (sandwiches and hot finger food) as well as Tea/Coffee. Music is also provided on the day by the Reel Deal band.

8. Ballymac threshing…

Over in The Half-Way Bar in Ballymac there’s a Steam Threshing fundraiser the Kerry Hospice and Alzheimer’s Association from 2pm. There’ll be a raffle and hampers. Donations are welcome.
