A TRALEE man will take on a 45k run later this month to raise funds for two important local cancer support facilities.

On Thursday, May 25, Eoghan Galvin will set off from his home in Tralee to Dingle — via the Conor Pass — where he works in Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne as a PE and Irish teacher.

Eoghan is taking on the challenge in memory of his mother Anne O’Keeffe Galvin who passed away in 2016 after a battle with cancer. During her later years, she availed of two amazing services in Tralee — Kerry Cancer Support Group and the Palliative Care Unit in University Hospital Kerry.

This is the second time Eoghan has fundraised for the two causes. Back in May 2020 he ran 200k in the month and raised an incredible €15,000.

This time he has already raised nearly €8,000, but he’s hoping people will still donate to raise as much as possible for the vital services.
