THREE events are being held in the Diocese of Kerry this month as part of its month-long celebration of ‘Time for Creation’ or ‘Am Cruthaithe’.
The first of these events takes place in Tralee Town Park on Friday September 1. People are invited to gather near the fountain at 6.45pm for ‘World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation’.
‘Time for Creation’/ Am Cruthaithe is now the high point of the year’s activities celebrating ‘Creation’ in the Diocese of Kerry.
The Season of Creation, running yearly between September 1 and October 4, is that time of the year when 2.2 billion Christians are invited to pray and care for creation.
This year the theme is Cherishing God’s Gift of Food. The other events organised by the JPIC Committee are;
• September 12th: Reducing Food Waste and Composting…Some Simple Ways with Donal O’Leary, JP2 Centre, Killarney 8pm
• September 28th: ‘Being Creative with Leftovers… Cookery Demonstation with Mark Doe.St. Brendan’s Pastoral Centre, Tralee 8pm.
All are invited to attend.
