THE opening night of an inspirational art exhibition showcasing the work of adults with intellectual disability will take place in Kerry County Library on Tuesday, July 12 at 6pm.
The ‘Gentle Reminder’ exhibition is the culmination of work done by service users at Mount Eagle Lodge, Kerry Parents and Friends Association based in Oakpark.
Mount Eagle Lodge is a day and residential service for adults with intellectual disability.
The art exhibition consists of acrylic paintings, watercolours, recycled button jewellery, textiles and inspirational collages made from recycled materials.
On show are collages that have inspired the title of the exhibition ‘Gentle Reminder’ because “they act as visual and verbal nuggets of wisdom” according to the centre.
The exhibition opens its doors at 6pm on next Tuesday, July 12 and will run until the end of the month.
