Experts On Bowel Cancer From UHK To Speak At Event In Rose Hotel

A RANGE of speakers in the field of Bowel Cancer will speak at an event in the Rose Hotel next week.

Presented by University Hospital Kerry, the Bowel Cancer Prevention and Stoma Care Evening will feature a range of experts from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, April 27. People attending will also be able to see a range of stands from companies from 6pm.

During the evening, Mr Brian Waldron, Consultant Colorectal Surgeon will speak on Bowel Cancer Services.

Mr Kevin Murray, Lead Endoscopist/Consultant Colorectal Surgeon will give a talk on ‘What Is Bowel Cancer?’

Dr Richard Bambury,  Consultant Oncologist will speak on ‘How to live well with Bowel Cancer.

Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Mr Eddie Myers, will talk about endoscopy and colorectal screening.

Bowel cancer, chemotherapy and side effects will be explored by Ms Theresa Walsh, CNM2 Oncology.

Dietician at UHK, Ms Regina Galvin will talk about diet and prevention of bowel cancer.

There will also be a talk from a patient giving a personal insight into bowel cancer, diagnosis, treatment and survival.

Ms Tina Canty, CNM2, Colorectal and Stoma Care, will talk on Nurse Lead Services.
