JOHN PAUL O’CONNOR is a well known face at Tralee Farmers Market and Taste of Kerry events selling his award winning ‘Sásta Sausages’.

Due to the success of the brand John Paul, from Cromane, has expended his business by opening a new factory in Firies with the creation 20 new jobs.

‘Sásta Sausages’ have expanded their business to meet growing demand in places such as Dubai and China.

The business which originated in Cromane, are planing on making the new facilities a tourist attraction where visitors will get a chance to sample their unique products.

The 20 new jobs will be in manufacturing as well as marketing and developing of the online business.

Last October ‘Sásta Sausages’ products won two major prizes in France at the ‘World Cup’ of sausage and pudding producers.

At the The Commanderie des Fins Goustiers du Duché d’Alençon awards Sásta’s white pudding was awarded the Grand Prix d’Honneur in the Ireland area.

But better than that,  his sausage won the overall Best in Ireland and Great Britain in the Championnat D’Europe De La Saucisse Grilleé category.
