Families To ‘Pedal In The Park’ Later This Month

Families will cycle through the beautiful Town Park on Friday, June 16.

AN event to get families together on their bikes for some exercise takes place later this month in the Town Park.

Pedal in the Park— part of National Bike Week which runs from June 10 to 18 this year — is now in its seventh year and it promises to be bigger and better than ever.

It’s a free event run by the Kerry Recreation and Sports Partnership, taking place on Friday, June 16 and registration is now open. A similar event will take place on June 11 in Listowel, for more info on that cycle click here.

The event gives both young children and adults an opportunity to jointly participate in physical activity while having fun in a safe environment.

This year there are two routes, both starting from Tralee Bay Wetlands.

• A 4k family cycle from Tralee Bay Wetlands to Tralee Town Park suitable for children from 5 – 8 yr olds.

• An 8k cycle from Tralee Bay Wetlands to the Canal suitable for children from 9 – 14yrs

Families will be gathering at Tralee Bay Wetlands from 6.15pm where there will music and face painting, with cyclists getting on their bikes from 7pm.

All participants must wear a helmet and all children must accompanied by an adult. Organisers say as part of Pedal in the Park, photographs will be taken, which maybe used for promotional purposes. To register for the event please click here
