BACK in July over 100 walkers took the road out west for the final Jamie Wrenn/Mike Deane Memorial walk from Tralee to Castlegregory.
Over the years, the walk had raised over €95,000 in aid of various cancer charities and they added another €15,126 to that when the organisers handed over the cheque to Recovery Haven on Thursday.
“We’re very happy with the amount,” said Mary Lynch, who along with Sandra Finn, wanted to thank everyone involved in making the walk — participants and sponsors — such an amazing success over the years. Also, out of the €15,126 raised, around €2,000 has gone towards a new defibrillator for Tralee town centre.
