A NEW ‘Féile Na mBláth’ festival is set to take place this summer with a whole host of fantastic entertainment lined up in mid-June.

It will form part of the 2015 Park Family Festival and will take place in Tralee town park on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.

The Queen of Hearts was joined by Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter as they gathered to launch the programme of events for this year’s festival.

This year’s event will be running from 9.30am to 6pm each day where there will be open air entertainment and and also under the protective shelter of marquees as well, in case the weather decides to take a turn.

Kerry County Council and Tralee Chamber Alliance have been working hard over the past few months to make sure that there is enough to keep everyone entertained over the two-day period.

The weekend will feature performances from the World Street Performance Champions and National Circus Festival of Ireland favourites, ‘The Lords of Strut’, along with dog shows, face painting, bouncy castles, flower and dance competitions and much more.

“Féile na mBláth has long been a popular event on the festivals calendar in Tralee. In the course of the seamless transition from Tralee Town Council to Kerry County Council it was a priority to enhance Féile na mBláth as a popular, family fun event staged in our wonderful Town Park. On behalf of my colleagues, I wish to pay tribute to former Cllr Johnnie Wall and his team who organised this event in previous years. We look forward to carrying the baton forward with a bigger and better event this year,” said Frank Hartnett, Tralee Municipal District Engineer.

Sunday’s programme of events will include ‘Strictly Tea Dancing’, animal roadshows, flower shows, archery, nature walks, arts, crafts and food.

“The Town Park in Tralee is a magnificent attraction for people of all ages, especially when it’s the venue for a weekend of top quality family entertainment. An event of this scale could not happen without the support of Kerry County Council or the input of the people of Tralee. We are encouraging the entire community to come to Féile na mBláth at The Park Festival Tralee and to invite their family and friends around Ireland to visit Tralee on the 13th and 14th of June,” said John Drummey, the president of Tralee Chamber Alliance.
