From 12noon to 2pm in Grá Restaurant in The Square, Dr Ailis Brosnan will host a demo on healthy cooking.

Manna Organic Shop at the Island of Geese will host ‘Weird Veggie Day’ from 12 noon to 4pm, celebrating weird and wonderful vegetables.

From 2pm to 3pm, chef and nutritionist Sid Sheehan will host a cookery demo on healthy superfood salads at Croí Restaurant at Princes Street.

Also in Croí, Ebb and Flow Yoga will be in Croí from 3pm to 5.30pm for ‘Soothe and Swirl’, an afternoon of yoga, wine and canapés.

At ‘Veggie Vitality’ in HQ2 on Dominick Street at 3pm, Dr Ailis Brosnan will talk about the benefits of fruit and veg including how they can help us lose weight, have more energy and feel healthier.

She will also dispel some common myths around ‘fattening fruits’ and ‘fruit sugars’ and give you lots of tips to help get you and your family eating more fruit and veg.

Later that night, there’s a nine course veggie spectacular tasting menu in Croí, while Grá Restaurant has a eight course vegetarian menu of delights.

A new book called ‘Vegtopia’, compiled by Noel Keane from Croí along with the Tralee Culinary Gangsters, was launched at Crói Restaurant last month.

They were inspired by the success of last year’s Vegtopia Festival which saw a range of sold-out events in town last July. For more on this see their facebook page by clicking here
