Feile na mBláth has been hugely popular in the past.

THIS year’s Féile na mBláth at the Park Festival returns to its traditional mid-June date and will run from Friday the 16th through to Sunday 18th  in the Tralee Town Park.

Thanks to Kerry County Council – Tralee Municipal District, entrance to the Festival and its events will once again be 100% Free.

This year’s Festival will see three themed days with Friday coinciding with Bloomsday, the traditional celebration of James Joyce’s Ulysses with a day filled with literature, art, jazz and costumed characters kicking off with free workshops for all local Schools culminating with an evening performance of readings and songs from yesteryear entitled ‘Just a Song at Twilight’ taking place in the Kerry Group Marquee.

Saturday is International Juggling Day and a host of activities are planned for all the family to get involved with including Juggling workshops, performances, street theatre shows and Drum Circles rounding off the evening with a ‘Movies & Musicals’ concert.

The Festival will celebrate International Picnic Day on Sunday as well as Father’s Day, with a unique and entertaining finale of ‘My Dad’s Got Talent’ where Children will be able to submit an entry by Monday evening June 12th, showing the unique, unusual, bizarre or simply the brilliance of their Dads talent to earn them a place in the Grand Final on the Sunday, supported by Kerry Mental Health Association and Radio Kerry.

Along with the Picnic Theme on Sunday, the morning will kick off with the traditional morning Mass, our statutory and Voluntary Emergency Services make a welcome return along with our Dog Show and the Festival will close with the Sweets of May presenting a Céili Mór.

If that’s not enough, daily visitors to the Festival are being encouraged to ’Cycle, Park N Charge’ and avail of the secure bike parking with eCharging station along with the LAPN’s ‘Green Your Festival’ initiative to encourage re-cycling & reusing.

Of course the centrepiece of Féile na mBláth is the Tralee Flower & Garden Club Competitions in the Ballyseedy Home & Garden Flower Marquee.

There will be the traditional Food and Craft Stalls as well as Art in the Park, Tralee Community Garden workshops, free entry to Kerry County Museum with Medieval Reenactors, Bouncy Castles, Small Kids Amusements and much more. The Festival will be launched by Mayor of Tralee, Cllr Mikey Sheehy lunchtime on the Friday.
