Upon arrival at the scene of the reported sighting, it is understood that the seafarers were then ashore. The Coast Guard advised Fenit RNLI that all people were safe and accounted for at that time. It is understood that the kayaks washed ashore shortly thereafter.

Jackie Murphy, Fenit Lifeboat Press Officer commented that “as always this is an opportunity to remind all users of the sea as always to be as prepared as possible when going to sea even of a day when the sea in the area appeared so calm as weather conditions were good at the time. The RNLI is a 24/7/365 service and always encourages people to be familiar with the emergency services number of 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.”

She added that Fenit RNLI were delighted with a safe and positive outcome for all concerned.
