Fenit Rowers Take Silver And Bronze At All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships

THE rowers from Fenit were in the medals yesterday at the All-Ireland Coastal Rowing Championships, 2017, which were held at the Lakeside centre, Ballyshannon Co.Donegal at the weekend.

Fenit Rowing Club, relatively new to Coastal rowing took silver in the Junior Ladies and Bronze in the Mixed Veteran.

Kerry surpassed themselves once again at the championships.

It was the Workmen’s Rowing Club, well the ‘Women’ of the Workmen’s Rowing Club, that shone bright gold on the water , winning Gold, in the Senior Ladies, Intermediate Race, andUnder 18 race.

A dream come true for Trainer and Cox Mikey Joe Burns, The winning crews included, Siobhan Burns, Ciara Moynihan, Ciara Brown, Annie O’Donoghue, and second cox Michael O’Donoghue.

Other Kerry Clubs that shined on the water were, Callinafercy Rowing Club, Killogrlin, who took gold in the Girls U16 race, Silver in the Under 18 Ladies Senior final,  bronze in the Under 18,  Silver in the U21.

Medals were always won by Portmagee, Sneem, Flesk Valley, Sive Rowing Club.

    Laura Looney and crew mates Rowing for Workmen’s Club took silver in the u14’s at Coastal Rowing Championship Donegal.
