THE Bon Secours will go green and gold next Friday to show support for the Kerry team, but they’re also hoping to celebrate a victory of their own that day.

“We have JCI which is Joint Commission International accreditation going on in the hospital next week, which is the gold standard of accreditation for hospitals,” said Hospital Manager, Donna Roche.

“We have American auditors in for the week and they leave on Thursday and we’ll know if we passed the audit then. So we have jersey day for the staff on Friday and we’re taking many staff members to Listowel Ladies Day to thank them for their engagement with the process and the amount of work that goes into the preparation for the auditors,” said Donna.

The audit is done every three years and the Bon Secours has had this accreditation since 2005.

“It’s essential we have it as it is the gold standard for private hospitals internationally,” she said.

The Bons is hiring two buses to take the staff over the Listowel and a prerequisite to getting on is having to wear the jersey.

“At least the ladies won’t have to worry about picking an outfit for ladies day,” joked Donna, who said they will be raffling off Kerry jerseys and All-Ireland tickets to staff on the day.

And being a Cork woman, will it be tough cheering Kerry on next Sunday?

“Well I’m a Cork woman but I’m leading a Kerry hospital, but we’re delighted to be Healthcare Partner of the Kerry team and we would love to see them bringing Sam home,” said Donna.
