We Find The Two Tralee Ladies Who Saved Murt €500

WE posted a story this afternoon about a Ballyduff man who wanted to thank two Tralee ladies for doing a good deed in town last week.

Murt O’Sullivan left €500 cash hanging out of an AIB ATM machine last Wednesday (see earlier story here) which the ladies returned to him.

But he didn’t get their names at the time and only described them as young ladies in their early 20s.

Thanks to an interview on Deirdre Walsh’s ‘Talkabout’ programme and our story being shared on Facebook, Murt  has tracked them down. The two ladies are sisters Linda Dennehy Patterson from Ashgrove and Sharon Browne from Ogham Rian.

The girls’ sister, Lisa, saw our story on the website and contacted Radio Kerry who passed on Sharon’s number to  Murt O’Sullivan.

“He rang my sister Sharon a while ago. I can’t believe he thought we were in our twenties, that was the best part!” said Linda.

“It was last Wednesday morning and he had walked away from the ATM. Just as I was about to put my card in, a wad of cash came out. I just saw him turn the corner and I shouted out to him but he didn’t hear me. I sent my sister Sharon after him and she brought him back,” said Linda.

“We told him it was his money and he was very thankful. We told him not to be worrying about people waiting in the queue and to always give it a minute until the cash came out. We went on our way then and thought nothing more of it,” she said.

“Then my sister, Lisa, rang me a while ago and said she saw it on Tralee Today. She rang Radio Kerry and gave them Sharon’s number and Murt got in touch. He said he was sending her a voucher for meal for The Grand Hotel for the two of us which was lovely. We were just happy that he got his money back,” said Linda.
