Fire In Apartment Above Citizens Information Centre In Tralee

A FIRE in an apartment above the Tralee Citizens Information Centre on New Street has caused the temporary closure of the offices there.

Just before 7pm last night, gardaí and two units of the fire brigade were attended the blaze in the building just opposite the garda station. The fire was brought under control and no-one was injured.

The Tralee Citizens Information Centre below the apartment – which was holding clinics at the time – was evacuated and there was water and smoke damaged caused to their offices.

As a result, the offices will be closed for the time being, but clients are being asked to contact any one of their other centres in Killarney, Kenmare, Cahersiveen or Listowel for any advice or assistance. The Killarney phone number is 0761 077820. The website is www.citizensinformation.ie
