ON Easter Sunday morning, April 16, a dawn mass will be held in Annagh Burial Ground at 6am.

Organised by the Curraheen Liturgy Group, it is the first time a dawn mass will ever have been held in the area.

There will also be an Easter fire lighting ceremony  during the mass, which will be performed at the newly erected altar, to mark the resurrection.

Annagh is a historical site and the burial ground for many of the local people in the area, so it’s hoped a large crowd will attend.

If the weather is particularly bad on the morning, the Mass will be moved to the church in Curraheen. Rain, hail or sunshine though, all are welcome to enjoy refreshments in the church after the Mass.
