Five Things To Do Around Tralee This Weekend

Less than three weeks to go until Christmas Day and the town will be buzzing with shoppers enjoying the festive atmosphere. Here’s a few things to get up to between the spending…

Saturday

1. Magic at Mitchels…

JOHN Mitchels are all set to welcome families to ‘Santa’s Magical Experience’ and Christmas markets this weekend.

There’s be a Santa’s Cave, where children will meet the man himself and receive a gift. There will also be fun activities for kids including face-painting and a bouncy castle and many, many stalls with arts, crafts, decorations, food and much more.

It takes place from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

2. Singing talent on show…

Voiceworks Studio Kerry branch are holding their student showcase this Saturday in the beautiful Collis Sandes House, Tralee.

It’s €5 entry and all proceeds will be given to Down Syndrome Kerry. Head along for some Christmas fun, all for a great local charity.

Sunday

3. Christmas at Kerins O’Rahillys…

It’s not just Mitchels GAA hosting Christmas fun. The Strand Road club will have a Christmas Fair in the Healy room in the clubhouse from 12noon to 6pm.

Special guest on the day is Emma Larkin who has written ‘Izzy’s Magical Football Adventure’.

There will be homemade candle displays, Christmas logs, home baking, Wendy’s calendars,  Elisha May’s fabulous prints, Helen’s handmade creams and beauty products, beautiful crafts by Laima, raffles and much, much more.

4. Costa Coffee craic for Cashel Ward…

Pop into Costa Coffee on The Mall  on Sunday and help out the Children’s Ward at University Hospital Kerry.

They are holding a family fun day at the cafe and promise some great entertainment with face-painting, arts and crafts fun, a raffle for some great prizes and Mickey and Minnie Mouse will pay a visit.

The fun starts at 12 noon until 6pm and tickets for the raffle are already on sale in the cafe.

5. Remembering loved ones at UHK…

THE ‘Light To Remember’ ceremony will take place from 5pm in front of the main entrance to University Hospital Kerry.

The fundraiser for Kerry Hospice will see the Christmas tree lit up with each light to remember a loved one who has passed away. The lights will be sold by Kerry Hospice volunteers on the evening. Each light costs €5 and will shine throughout the festive period.

MC’d by Deirdre Walsh, there will be refreshments provided on the evening in the main reception area and the UHK choir are providing the entertainment.
