Five Things To Do Around Tralee This Weekend

Unlike the plethora of events last week, this weekend is relatively quiet. There is a few things to do though…

1. Enjoy the weather…

It’ll be fine on Friday and Saturday is supposed to be dry and sunny, so take advantage of the fine weather by going for a walk, have a barbecue or enjoy a drink in a beer garden.

It’s the weekend and you deserve to enjoy yourselves! Sunday, at this stage, doesn’t look too good though.

Saturday

2. Choir evening…

A wonderful evening of music will take place at St John’s Ashe Street on Saturday evening at 7pm where funds raised will go towards church maintenance.

The Kerry Chamber Choir and he Queen’s Island Victoria Male Choir from Belfast will be participating. The price is €10 and kids go free. When you buy a ticket you’ll be entered into a raffle for a prize.

Sunday

3. Take the Donal Walsh Challenge…

The 2018 Spa NS ‘Donal Walsh Spa 6K Challenge’ takes place on Sunday. The school will certainly be a hive of activity with a fabulous farmers market in operation and children from 5th and 6th classes coordinating fun games and challenges for young and old all day.

There’ll be a barbecue, tasty treats will be served on the day, a water rocket display and the ‘Amazing Guido’ well known street entertainer, will host his lively show to entertain everyone.

The ‘Spa 6K Challenge’ a 6km looped run/walk starting and finishing at the school will start  at 11.30 a.m.  Register from 10.00a.m. on the morning,

4. Family fun at the Mitchels…

Ardfert NS has teamed up with Active Kingdom to deliver a great day of family fun and entertainment at the John Mitchels GAA Complex.

There will be a host of activities on the day including face painting, balloon modelling, puppet show, costume characters, disco, Zumba and loads more.

Their popular inflatables will of course be available to play on. The cost is €10 per car on entry and all are welcome.

5. Kerry in action…

The hurlers take to the field at Austin Stack Park again this Sunday, this time against Westmeath.

They’ll be hoping to repeat their victory over Laois last weekend in the Joe McDonagh Cup. Throw-in is at 3pm.
