Five Things To Do Around Tralee This Weekend

.

The Festival’s over and schooldays beckon again next week. Better make the best of this weekend with the family…

Friday

1. Flock to Birds Funfair…

It’s your last chance to take the kids to the ‘bazaar’ as they’ll be gone after the weekend.

While sticking a hoover into your wallet will have the same effect, it’s a lot more fun watching the kids get their thrills on the many rides at the Brandon and lower Tesco car parks.

Tis all good craic  and shure it’ll be gone for another year now, so you can start saving for 2019!

Saturday

2. Family fun at the Forge…

The traditions and skills of the past will be recalled in a couple of weeks when Spa/Fenit Community Council celebrate National Heritage week at the newly refurbished Old Forge in Churchill.

The day of events will include a farrier at work, butter-making, bee-keeping, wild flower display, sugan chair assembly and  a knot making demonstration.

The dog show will attract a great field of entries while an exotic pet display is also sure to generate interest. Madam Electra, the renowned fortune teller from Transylvania will certainly add some easter mystery to the day.

There will be a traditional vintage tractor and Honda run from 12 noon and a special attraction should be a Maserati 200.

There will also be traditional music, song, dance and storytelling in the newly refurbished Forge centre. Everyone is invited to share in a wonderful day of family entertainment.

3. Stacks Strictly…

It’s going to be a mighty night at the Dome as 14 couples boogie it out for the’Austin Stacks GAA ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ crown.

MC Brian Hurley will host the entertaining contest and over 1,000 people are expected to attend. Tickets at €20 will be available at the door.

Sunday
