Not a lot on this weekend, but you might find something of interest in the following…

Friday

1. ‘Chicago’ in Siamsa…

THE Light Opera Society of Tralee’s ‘Chicago: A Musical Vaudeville’  is being performed at Siamsa Tire, Tralee for this week with two performances left on Friday and Saturday at 8pm.

‘All that Jazz’, ‘Funny Honey’, ‘Cell block Tango’, ‘If you’re good to mamma’, ‘All I care about is love’, ‘Razzle, dazzle’, ‘Me and my baby’ are just some of the memorable songs in the show.  Booking is open at Siamsa Tire box-office – 066-7123055 or online at www.siamsatire.com

Saturday

2. Job opportunities…

3. A sort of homecoming…

The Tralee Pastoral Area which includes: St. John’s parish; St. Brendan’s parish and The Spa parish, is hosting a ‘Homecoming’ event for Lent on Saturday in St John’s Church.

According to a spokesperson from the Diocese of Kerry, “the aim is to reconnect people with God as they begin their journey through Lent. The hope is that people will visit St. John’s Church to light a candle or say a prayer and perhaps this will lead to a sense of homecoming this Lent.” The event runs from 12 noon to 12 midnight.

Sunday

4. A season begins…

The County League throws-in with town teams in action at home and away. The game of the day — from a Tralee perspective — is Na Gaeil taking on Kerins O’Rahillys at 3pm in Strand Road in the Division 1 clash. It’s the Oakpark side’s first time in the top flight so a special day awaits for them.

Stacks are at home to Kilcummin,  John Mitchels are at home to Glenbeigh Glencar, Ballymac host Glenflesk, St Pat’s travel to Keel and Churchill are away to Cordal. A busy day then.
