Five Things To Do In Tralee And Beyond This Weekend

IT’S the relative calm before the festival storm here in Tralee this weekend, but there’s still a few things to get up to in town and beyond…

Friday

1. Vintage rally…

One for the car lovers this. Having postponed the event in July, The Kingdom Veteran Vintage & Classic Car Club will hold their annual Ballymac Vintage Car and Honda 50 Run.

It will now take place at 7pm from O’Riada’s Bar and will benefit Down Syndrome Kerry.

2. A Classic quiz…

The Greyhound Bar should be good craic as members of Classic FC put on a table quiz. A fundraiser for the club, everyone is invited with tables of four €20. It begins at 9.30pm.

Saturday

3. Lively Lixnaw…

It’s going to be an event-filled weekend in Lixnaw as the village comes alive to enjoy the inaugural Lixnaw Summer Festival.

There’s an outdoor movie screening, music, tug of war, indoor and outdoor entertainment and so much more to look forward.

On Saturday August 12, Kerry Film Festival brings “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to an open-air cinema in the village and the fun levels will continue to soar with a day of family-based activities on Sunday, August 13. For more, check them out on Facebook here

Sunday

4. Park life…

St Brendan’s Park FC will be hoping the weather stays fine as they prepare for a great day of activities.

They will hold a 5k run at 12noon followed by their annual open day including a barbecue and family entertainment.

It promises to be a great day.  You can register for the run online atwww.stbrendanspark.com or alternatively you can contactinfo@stbrendanspark.com. You can register on the day from 10a.m or through any Park F.C member.

All monies raised from this event will be going towards the on going club redevelopments.

5. Coffee by the lake…

Tralee Bay Wetlands’ Lakeside Cafe will be a place to grab some refreshments on Sunday morning as they host a coffee and cake sale.

It takes place from 11am to 3pm and all proceeds go towards MS Ireland.
