The Rose lights are being put up in town at the moment.
OK, the weather may be awful and the summers of the past two years haven’t materialised this year (yet!), but there’s a reminder in the town centre that fun times are on the way.
We’ve noticed that the Rose of Tralee festival lights are being set up at the moment, which signals the beginning of the countdown to a week of fun on the streets in mid-August.

Castle Street is being done at the moment, as our (admittedly gloomy) photo shows, so the rest of the town will be ready in plenty time for the Festival which starts exactly a month on August 14.
That should brighten up the mood as the muggy weather continues.
Mind you, if you’re a kid, any sign of the Festival approaching also means that schooldays can’t be far away…
