FORMER shooting coach with the Detroit Pistons, Dave Hopla is coming to Tralee on Sunday to give a masterclass which is not to be missed if you play or coach basketball.

Hopla, who has also worked with players at the Washington Wizards and the New York Knicks, is considered by many to be one of the top shooters in the world. He regularly knocks down 495 out of 500 shots.
He played with St Gauls in Belfast during the 1980s but since then he has gained his reputation with his incredible shooting skills which makes him an in-demand coach in the basketball world.

“It’s a great opportunity for ball players and coaches to learn from the master,” said Kieran Donaghy. “We’re very lucky to have him down here and it’s his only Kerry session so we’re expecting a big crowd,” added Kieran, who met Hopla at the recent Belfast Classic tournament and persuaded him to come to Tralee.
Basketballers are encouraged to head to the Tralee Sports Complex from 12noon-2pm for the shooting clinic hosted by Dave. Garvey’s Tralee Warriors players will be there to assist with the clinic. There’s no need to book just turn up on the day. Adults cost €10 and u16s €5.
