The Festival is in full swing downtown and there’s loads of stuff to get up to this evening. Let’s just hope it stays dry…

Head down to ‘De Bazaar’…

Look, it’s not too crazy in town yet, so tonight is the best night to bring the kids down to Birds Amusements before the bedlam of the next five days. There’s rides for all ages offering unlimited opportunities for pocket-emptying fun.

It’s Showband time…

One for the older generation here, but there’s still tickets available to see Ronan Collins, Red Hurley, Paddy Cole, Gina , Tommy and Jimmy Swarbrigg, and more on The Square stage from 8pm to 10.30pm. The seating is fully covered to protect against concertgoers getting wet. Tickets are €15 and can be bought by clicking here…

The Ashe lights up…

Later tonight, from 10pm, the Ashe Memorial Hall will be lit up for a history lesson as a fantastic ‘digital mapping’ display takes the viewer on trip celebrating Tralee 800, 1916 and the story of the Rose. It takes place every 15 minutes and is not to be missed…

Sample the atmosphere…

Whether you’re on the streets or in the pubs, there’s music and craic at every turn.  There’s music sessions in nearly all the pubs, Castle Street comes alive with pop-up music performances and the Keystone Cop will be out enforcing his own brand of the law. Go out and enjoy it because it’s YOUR festival.

That should have said Ashe Memorial Hall and Not the Ashe Memorial Hotel

It’s a disgrace what they are doing with the square this year especially for the locals who use the pubs and restaurants
