Four Things To Do In Tralee And Beyond This Weekend

Posted by

It’s a long weekend and while the weather is looking mixed, if you can get out here’s a few things to go to…

1. Family fun in Abbeydorney…

The Abbeydorney Vintage Society Classic and Vintage Car and Tractor Show takes place this weekend.

Beginning on Saturday, registration for the Vintage Run is at 4.30pm, in the vintage field starting at 5pm with a barbecue on return at 8pm.

There’a a whole range of family fun on Sunday from 12 noon with a dog show, kids tractor racing, car boot sale, fire engine rides, bouncy castles, donkey derby and much more.

2. Enjoy the match…

Kerry face Meath in a crunch All-Ireland Quarter Final Series game at 6pm and if you don’t have Sky Sports then you’ll have to find somewhere to watch it.

Why not make an evening of it by hitting the town, having a few drinks and a bite to eat to celebrate Kerry making the semi-finals.

3. BBQ time…

If you’re looking for somewhere to go after the game, then a barbecue night in aid of Recovery Haven looks like a fun night out.

There’s a prosecco reception from 7pm after which guests will be treated to a sumptuous barbecue and live music with ‘Behind the Light’, followed by a DJ. Tickets cost €20 and are available from Benners Hotel and Recovery Haven in Haigs Terrace.

4. Banna Run…

While it’s not expected to be beach weather this weekend, Banna is the place to be on Sunday morning.

It’s the 10th anniversary of the event which has 10k, 5k and 2k runs. There’s a new Casement medal for each finisher in the 10k and 5k runs and for the first three home in the U16s (boys and girls). Registration starts from 8am at the Banna Sea Rescue Boathouse. The race starts at 9.30am (9am for walkers).
