It’s the calm before the storm of the replay next weekend, but there’s still a whole host of things in town or just a short drive away for you to enjoy over the next few days…

Nic Westaway will be appearing in Causeway this Friday night.

1. A Braxton in Causeway: A star of one of the longest running soaps on television is heading to a pub in Causeway this weekend, in what is sure to attract just ‘a few’ fans down that way.

Nic Westaway, who plays Kyle Braxton hit Australian television show will be appearing at the McHales Stretford End Bar tonight for a one night only appearance.

Juniors will be welcome in the pub from between the hours of 7-9pm, with the VIP section getting exclusive access from 9-10pm, with the over 18’s on the night welcome from 10pm-1am.

Hodor2. Rave of Thrones: Winter may still be on the way in the ‘Game of Thrones’ world, but one of the stars of the show has most definitely arrived as he looks forward to playing in Quarters on the night of Friday, July 12.

Kristian Nairn, who plays Hodor, the simple 6″ 11″ giant who protects Bran Stark in the mega-hit HBO show will bring his worldwide ‘Rave of Thrones’ tour to the Tralee club, in an event that promises big crowds.

Doors will open at 10pm with tickets €10 at the door.

Ballyheigue

The Ballyheigue Summer Festival will be taking place this weekend.

3. Ballyheigue/Castlegregory Festivals: Ballyheigue and Castlegregory are in the middle of their annual festivals right now and – weather permitting – could be a great way to pass away the weekend.

The Ballyheigue Summer Festival festival firstly has a whole host of things to do over all three days this coming weekend with the festival family fun day, youth disco’s sandcastle competitions, kids discos, dog shows and historical walks all taking place over the weekend.

The Castlegregory Summer festival is taking place until Sunday. The festival is known far and wide for family entertainment, including summer festival queen selection; dances/discos; pet show; amusements; treasure hunts; and much much more so be sure to check that out if you can.

SUNDAY

4. Walk 4 Autism: This will be a 5km walk/run starting from the John Mitchels GAA grounds in Ballyseedy with all proceeds from the event going towards helping children with autism in the St Ita’s and St Joseph’s school to get the equipment that they need.

The walk will be kicking off at 1pm and will be offering a whole host of refreshments and family entertainment afterwards such as face painting, sweets and a bouncy castle to keep all the little ones engaged.

Those looking to take part and register in the event can do so at a cost of €10 here.

There’s also a table quiz that night in aid the cause in Gally’s.
