Fourth Man Arrested In Relation To Fatal Assault Released Without Charge

THE fourth man arrested as part of the investigation into the fatal assault on Thomas Dooley at Rathass in Tralee, on Wednesday, October 5, has been released without charge.

A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested on Wednesday and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Tralee Garda Station.

The third man arrested on Monday as part of the investigation, was released without charge on Wednesday and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Two men, 41 year old Thomas Dooley Bay 10, Halting Site, Carrigrohane Road, Cork and 35-year-old Patrick Dooley of 33 Arbutus Grove, Killarney, have appeared in court charged in relation to the fatal assault last week. Gardaí continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The funeral of 43-year-old Thomas Dooley of Hazelwood Drive, Ballyspillane, Killarney, who was killed in the stabbing incident last week, took place on Thursday in Tullamore where his wife Siobhan is from.
