A FREE seminar on Day Place in Tralee will take place next Tuesday, June 18 at Tralee Library between 10am and 1pm.

Day Place is Tralee’s earliest Georgian terrace, built by Justice Robert Day at the turn of the nineteenth century.

It was the first time in the town’s history that a terrace of this design calibre was constructed.  Day Place was built at a time of social and cultural change in Tralee and was home to the town’s gentry and their families, with carriage houses fronting onto Friars Lane (now Friary Lane).

Kerry County Council will host seminar where those attending will;

• Learn about the stone, slate and timber that make up Day Place
• Discover what secrets lie beneath the ground
• Pick up free conservation advice
• See practical lime and joinery demonstrations

The seminar is funded by the Heritage Council and supported by Kerry County Council.
