French drama group performing for students.
THE French Theatre For Schools group visited Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí on Thursday last to perform for the students.
Second, third and Transition year students of the school attended the drama Le Rendez -Vous.
The purpose of the drama was to put an emphasis on having fun and on ‘learning by doing’. The drama, which skillfully included many of the topics required for the Oral and Aural examinations, aimed to help the students with their French.
Throughout the play, there was lots of participation from the audience, which ensured that the students would gain confidence in their ability to communicate with French natives.
As well as audience participation, some students had the opportunity to take to the stage and practice their French by engaging with the actors.
Music and dance were a vital aspect to the play. The abundance of visual action and repetition throughout the play gave students of all abilities an easy understanding of what was happening.
In the end, it was a successful play and a very enjoyable afternoon for all involved.
