THE Minister of State for Food, Forestry and Horticulture, Andrew Doyle TD, will be officially launching the Kerry Forest Connections Project with a Forest Fun afternoon at Lyreacrompane Resource Centre, on Wednesday, August 21 from 3pm to 6pm.

Run in conjunction with National Heritage Week’s Wild Child Day, there will be activities through the woods including a scavenger hunt, tree identification and natural art and local craft demonstrations in the Resource Centre as well as tea and scones.

‘Forest Connections’ is run by Kerry Earth Education Project with support from The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine.

The project aims to get people of all ages out into the forests; to observe, enjoy and participate in forest life; enabling people to feel connected to local forests and forests throughout Ireland; enhancing feelings of wellbeing and knowledge of the essential place of forests in our life.
