GAELCHOLÁISTE Chiarraí students had a great time at the National Ploughing Championships at Screggan, Tullamore on Wednesday.
A group of 42 Transition Years joined their teacher Dónal Breathnach on the bus at 6.30am for what has become an annual adventure for the students. They were part of an attendance of 111,000 on day two of the championships.
One of the students, second year Muireann Ní Dhúllaing, had won a baking competition sponsored by Aldi and got to the National Junior Baking Competition that was held at the venue on Wednesday, but alas she didn’t win.

Of course that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm as the group had a fantastic day out, eventually returning to base in Tralee at 8pm that evening.
