PROCLAMATION Day took place around Tralee and all over the country on Tuesday and two of the schools we visited were, Gaelscoil Mhic Easmainn And Caherleaheen.
On the day, every school in the country was invited to share their Proclamations for a New Generation, and all other creative projects relating to 1916 that the student body had developed.
Both schools remembered the events of 1916 with an assembly where pupils produced work they had created especially for the occasion.
In Caherleaheen, they incorporated a céilí as part of the school’s Seachtain Na Gaeilge celebrations which continues this week. The event has proved a resounding success, teaching young people about history and generating hope for the future. (we’ll have more coverage of the event from other schools later)
