Gardaí Conduct ‘Operation Lifesaver’ In Tralee

GARDAI in Tralee conducted ‘Operation Lifesaver’ today with 20 motorists stopped for mobile phone use or not wearing their seat belt.

One driver was stopped with a three year old child standing in the front seat. Another driver texting while driving, failed to notice Gardaí with blue lights and sirens.

He was stopped  and it was discovered the car was not taxed for the last six years.  The car was seized under Section 41 Road Traffic Act and the driver will be summonsed to court.

While dealing with that last detection, Gardai noticed another driver texting on her phone. Gardaí also discovered that this car was not taxed for the last 11 months. A fixed charge penalty notice was issued and the car seized under Section 41 Road Traffic Act.
