Gardaí Appeal For Information After Emaciated Pup Seized In Ardfert Area

The dog seized by Tralee gardaí in the Ardfert area on Thursday.

GARDAI in Tralee are appealing for any information in relation to an emaciated pup seized in the Ardfert area on Thursday.

The animal was seized by Tralee Gardaí from a group of men in suspicious circumstances.  The dog has since been taken by gardaí to a veterinary clinic for care. The dog is described by the vet as a highly emaciated German Shepard / Alsatian pup, approx. 4 – 6 months old.

Enquiries are ongoing into the dogs ownership as it is suspected the dog may have been stolen / abused.

It would be much appreciated by gardaí if contact could be made with them by anyone with any information in respect of this animal to 066-7102300.

Any witnesses in the Ardfert area on Thursday, who may have observed a group of males engaging with this animal, are sought by Gardaí.

An Garda Síochána are reminding the public to be extra vigilant with their pets and to contact their local Garda station if they observe any possible thefts of pets.

  1. Please contact me if there is any chance that I would be able to adopt this beautiful dog. He would have a wonderful home here on the north coast, beaches to run on, and two other doggy companions to make his life complete. I have previous experience with rescued german shepherds, I am aware of their temperaments and their traits, and I know that I could give him a good life.

    My mum tried to save a black and white 18 month old male collie named Sky.

    She was making great progress with him but, due to her age and her residence being located in Tralee town the circumstances was wrong for his breed.

    I do not know if you could get one of the above dogs.

    But Sky is with Kerry SPCA in Rackett Ln, Balloonagh, Tralee, Co. Kerry if you are interested as you should like the right fit for Sky.
