Gardaí Appeal For Witnesses To Illegal Dumping In Tralee

GARDAI are investigating a case of illegal dumping near a Tralee estate.

Last Tuesday, April 20, Tralee gardaí received an anonymous report of illegal dumping at the rear of the Shanakill Family Resource Centre.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the dumping to contact them at Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300 or use the See Something, Say Something service by texting ‘Tralee’ and the incident details to 50555.

Gardaí in Tralee have seen an increase in illegal dumping since the pandemic began last year and the type of material being dumped has also changed.

Previously they would have found household clearance material but now household waste is more prevalent.

Meanwhile, gardaí are also investigating the theft of a child’s laptop was stolen from a car in an estate in Tralee.

The incident, which took place at Fountain Court, was reported to gardaí on Sunday at 6pm. The car was broken into and the laptop taken from the front seat.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously or witnessed the theft to contact them at Tralee Garda Station.
