Gardaí have arrested a man in connection with the investigation into the fatal hit and run traffic incident at Gneeveguilla which claimed the life of a man in 2012.
Paud O’Leary was killed when he was struck by a vehicle at Scrahanfadda, Gneeveguilla, on Sunday, July 1, 2012. In March of this year, Shane Fitzgerald, of Knockeen, Meelin, Newmarket, Co Cork, was found guilty by a jury of dangerous driving causing the death of a 42-year-old father.
Gardaí have this morning arrested a 70 year old man in connection with this investigation.
The man is currently detained at Bandon Garda Station under the provisions of Section 4- Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing.
