GARDAÍ have arrested a man in relation to the seizure €15,000 worth of drugs yesterday in a wooded area in Ballymacelligott yesterday.
The drugs were recovered after a surveillance operation carried out by Gardai on a local drug dealing gang in the days leading up to the seizure.
A known suspect went to the wooded area on the outskirts of town on Wednesday afternoon at about 1.20pm and when Gardai from the Divisional Drugs Squad approached him he fled and sped off from a nearby vehicle. Gardai then recovered the ecstasy and cannabis worth €15,000.
A man in his 20s was arrested later at Shannon Airport under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act and is being detained at Tralee Garda Station.
