Gardaí Ask Students To Celebrate Leaving Cert Results In A Safe Manner

GARDAI are asking students who received their Leaving Certificate results today to celebrate safely tonight and not to host house parties.

Gardaí will patrol public amenities in the town tonight — including the Town Park, Millennium Walkway, the playground in the park and nearby beaches — to ensure people do not gather in large groups.

Speaking on Radio Kerry this afternoon, Garda Niall O’Connor said the public can report any large gatherings by using the ‘See Something, Say Something’ text service on 50555 and giving the necessary information.

Garda O’Connor said students deserve to celebrate their results and can do so in a safe manner, but not by hosting house parties.

He said people can have others to their homes within the public health guidelines to a maximum of six people from three different households, but larger gatherings are not permitted.
