THE ‘See Something, Say Something’ campaign in Tralee is being credited with resulting in a big drop in public order offences in town in the first six months of this year.

The text campaign started in August of 2018 where members of the public in Tralee were asked to report any crime incidents via the 50555 text number. There have been over 600 text messages from the public since its inception.

In the first six months of 2019, there was a 25% drop in public order offences and the campaign is being credited by gardaí with playing a big part in this decrease. Gardai are encouraging the public to continue using the text number to report crime.
