Gardaí Find €45k Of Drugs In Two Locations

garda_1QUANTITIES of cannabis, amphetamines and suspected ecstasy worth in the region of €45,000 were seized by Gardaí last week in town.

The drugs were believed to be destined to target Tralee and north Kerry users for the Halloween period.

The drugs were found by the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit, Scenes of Crime Unit and Dog Unit last Wednesday, in a makeshift shed in the Lisloose area and at a house in Lios Ard, Lisloose.

Cannabis and ecstasy were found in the house in Lios Ard, and a man was arrested in Sunday’s Well soon after.

Later on Wednesday, in a shed in a ghost estate on the Tralee to Abbeydorney road near Lisloose, gardaí found cannabis, amphetamines and suspected ecstasy.

A man has been charged with drug offences and a file has been sent to the DPP.

Undercover work by gardai from the Drugs Unit, who have been monitoring non-national gangs’ activities in north Kerry, has been linked to a number of seizures already this year.
