GARDAI in Tralee are holding a ‘Day Of Action’ in Tralee on Tuesday where there will be more interaction with the public.
From 7am they will be focussing on increased garda visibility, to obstruct the movement of criminals, increase the execution of warrants and to increase interaction with the general public and businesses in relation to crime prevention advice.
There will be additional checkpoints and operations. Gardaí are also asking people to be vigilant against crime, especially in terms of bogus callers to houses and they will be distributing literature to that effect.
Great news, I would love to see a more visible presence of Gardaí on in our town centre especially the Green (town park) where a Gardaí on a bike may be best for there. The Government would also want to increase the numbers of Gardaí for our town centre streets especially at night. Lets face facts, Tralee town centre is a small area…….so, just 4 Gardaí on feet patrol day and night would have a significance affect.
