Gardaí In Kerry Seize Thousands Of Euro Worth Of Suspected Drugs

Suspected cannabis plants seized yesterday in Kenmare.

GARDAI seized €4,325 worth of suspected drugs yesterday in Kenmare.

As part of Operation Thor, Gardaí carried out a day of action in the town. Seven houses were searched in the town by Kerry divisional drug unit with the assistance of uniform Gardaí from Kenmare, Kerry roads policing unit, and southern region dog unit.

During the searches Gardaí seized cannabis plants worth €3,200, €955 of cannabis herb and €170 of cocaine, mushrooms and MDMA and will now be sent for analysis. No arrests were made but Gardaí are following a definite line of enquiry.

Speaking at Killarney Garda Station, Superintendent Flor Murphy said “The focus of the operation was to gather intelligence and disrupt people believed to involved in the sale and supply of drugs in Kenmare. This operation reflects the commitment of An Garda Síochána to protect the communities in Kenmare from the illegal drugs trade.
