GARDAI are looking into an incident where a man is alleged to have made an approach to a child which made her uncomfortable.
The alleged incident happened in Ballyoughtra Heights, Milltown on Wednesday between 3.10 and 3.20pm.
The young girl was walking in the area at that time when she said that a man in a silver van pulled over and spoke to her, making her feel uncomfortable during the encounter.
He is described him as having black hair and aged in his fifties. The girl reported it to her mother who in turn contacted the gardaí.
Gardai in Killarney say the incident may have been innocent with no harm intended, but would like to speak to the man in question and asked that he contact them at 064 6671160. Gardaí are also looking at CCTV footage as part of their enquiries.
