GARDAI in Tralee are investigating a number of theft and criminal damage incidents in town over the past couple of weeks.

On Thursday, November 29, a bike was stolen from The Mall area between 12.30pm and 2pm. The bike is bright green in colour and gardaí are asking if they know the whereabouts of the bike, or saw it being stolen, to contact them at Tralee Garda Station.

Over €2,500 worth of mobile phones were taken from Harvey Norman at Manor West recently.  They were the latest model iPhones and were on display (out of their packaging) at the store but are fully functional.

The men were caught on CCTV and gardai are following a definite line of enquiry in identifying them. Gardai are warning people if they are offered the newest iPhones for sale at a knockdown price do not buy them.

Gardai say the phones can be tracked and taken off you and the person with the phone is liable for prosecution for handling stolen property.

Overnight, between Saturday, December 1 and Sunday, December 2, there was a custom chrome trim, specific to a 2012 Toyota Avensis, stolen from outside a house in the Rahoonane estate. The thieves only managed to take part of the trim.

Also, on Denny Street in the early hours of Sunday morning, the front door of the Zipyard store was kicked in. Nothing was taken from the shop so gardaí believe it is a case of vandalism.

If you have any information on the above incidents please contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.
