GARDAI in Tralee are asking for the public’s help after a theft from a car in Tralee.

On Thursday, November 23, between 7pm and 8pm, a car was broken into at Liber House in Monavalley.

A woman left her wallet on the passenger seat of the car and it was taken in the break-in where the window of the car was smashed.

If anyone saw anything in the area at the time they are asked to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066-7102300.

Meanwhile a woman in her 70s was the victim of a crime in Killarney. On November 21, gardai believe the woman was targeted by thieves who were able to get her debit card PIN number while she was using a credit card terminal in a shop near Deerpark in Killarney.

They then followed her to her car, where one of the men distracted her while the other stole her card.

The thieves then used the  card to make a number of transactions and stole a substantial amount of money.

Gardai are warning people to be very careful when making card transactions at ATMs or in shops and to make sure nobody can seen them entering their PIN number.
