Gardaí Investigate Theft From Person Incidents In Tralee Town Centre

GARDAI in Tralee are asking for the public’s help in their investigation into two separate theft from a person incidents in the town centre over the past week.

On Thursday, October 29 and about 10.40am at Upper Rock Street, the victim was walking home from Dunnes Stores when a male approached her and asked her for money.

She gave him €3 but he demanded more. He then grabbed her purse and ran from the scene. Gardaí are asking anyone who saw the incident to contact them.

On Friday, October 30, at about 2pm, two females approached a man at Walpole Lane off Castle Street and asked him for money for food.

He offered them €10 but when he produced his money they snatched the cash and ran away. Again gardai are asking anyone who saw the incident or saw the females running away to contact them on 066-7102300.

Meanwhile, gardaí are also looking for information regarding a burglary at the ITT South Campus on Wednesday, October 28.

Between 1.45am and 3am, the door of the carpentry and joinery building was forced open and tools to the value of €2,000 were stolen. The tools are DeWalt and if anyone is offered tools for sale to contact Tralee Garda Station.
