Gardaí Issue Appeal For Information After Suspicious Approach To Child

GARDAI in Castleisland investigating the suspicious approach to a child at Scartaglin GAA Grounds, Kerry on last Sunday wish to appeal to the public for their assistance.

The incident has been widely reported over the past few days, but now Gardaí have officially issued an appeal to the public for information.

Reports emerged at the weekend that two men with their faces covered, approached an 11-year-old boy who was at the GAA grounds on Saturday afternoon.

Gardai wish to speak to anybody who noticed anything suspicious in or around Scartaglen GAA ground between 3.15pm-3.35 pm on Saturday (Under 10 football training had just finished).

They are asking did anybody notice a black or dark coloured car (possible VW) at or near the entrance to Scartaglen GAA grounds between 3.15pm-3.35pm or anyone acting suspiciously around this time in that area.

They also want to know did anybody meet or see a black or dark coloured car (possible VW) heading in the Castleisland or Farranfore or Cordal direction at or around 3.15pm- 3.35 pm on Saturday.
