GARDAI are investigating after separate robberies at Ballybunion and Killorglin over the past week. In the Killorglin incident, a handgun was taken in the robbery.
On Monday, August 1 at around 11pm, a woman and her brother discovered a male in a hoodie in their house at Glor na dTonn, Ballybunion.
The man fled the scene immediately with the woman’s handbag and despite giving chase, the robber got away. Gardai are hoping that if anyone saw anything suspicious in the Glor na dTonn area at the time to contact them.

In a separate incident, on Wednesday, August 3, between 6.30pm and midnight, a house in the Knocklyon Heights estate in Killorglin was entered and a safe containing cash was removed.
Also, there was a gun safe which forced open and a sig sauer P226 9mm handgun with 100 rounds of ammunition was taken. Gardaí are concerned that the gun could be used in a crime in the future.
