GARDAI are to carry out patrols at schools around Tralee and countywide to ensure parents don’t park illegally when collecting and dropping off their children.
Speaking on Radio Kerry’s ‘Talkabout’ programme on Monday, Garda Eilish Cronin said they had received a number of complaints in recent weeks about illegal parking at certain times outside schools.

She said this is putting children at risk and gardaí will have dedicated patrols in the morning and afternoon at schools around the county.
She said gardaí understand spaces to park may be scarce at these busy times, but if parents went 50 or 100 yards further away from the school they should be able to park safely.
